Around every corner lies a startling truth.....

Consumption

Life has a strange way of dealing your cards.

Like a poor bus service, they all come at once: racing past

Effecting a feeling of nagging loss. Like the anticipation of

A glorious meal that leaves you full in sick pointlessness.

How else are we expected to feel?

Looking at the night sky one can imagine different scenarios.

Answers seem easy to glean at midnight, but less cohesive

When dawn rears her head to greet you. Yet, full of indifference

You let her slide by without realising that you might have missed something.

How else are we expected to feel?

Night and day, and day and night pass by smiling serenely yet nagging

You to forget something or even making you feel frustrated for nothing.

Maybe you should have watched reality television, there again possibly,

Drinking on the weekend was folly indeed. Whatever! In such circumstances as these,

How else are we expected to feel?
